Flemish Competition: Fiction

Flemish short fiction offers a sampling of the names that will fill up silver screens in the very near future. Festival veteran Leonardo Van Dijl delivered this year's Belgian entry for the Academy Awards and Mia director Christina Vandekerckhove sent Milano into theatres. However, the Flemish fiction programmes are much more than an appetiser, they dare to take risks and delve into seemingly banal situations, but are not afraid of big genre films either. Horror makes a comeback, forest films are very popular and family ties prove once again to be the ideal fodder for an engaging short film.
